Rinky Dink Pink.....

Howdy doodles all 10, YES 10 of you. I think I might have to get some extra mugs and drafting in emergency chairs for everyone.

Firstly, I would like to welcome my 10th follower. Hello. I hope you like inane ramblings, cups of tea and the occasional soap box campaign (I don't campaign on behalf of soap boxes, I think they're covered under they're own union), but I occasionally clamber up onto one, rant on for a few minutes and then shuffle off back to my corner. I hope you like it, would you like a cup of tea?

I'm back from a few days of Pride parades, tequila swigging, drag queen chasing, beer slurping, more sequins than you can shake a Febo burger at, fantastic friends weekend in Amsterdam. I went over for Pride and my friend Rob's 40th birthday. It was such a good weekend and I'm cloggy home sick and want to go back again. Before you hear it from anyone else, yes I did get extremely pished on Friday night and chased drag queens around so I could have my photo taken with them. Honestly, I shouldn't be let out in public sometimes.....

I stayed with Garry again who's spare room was my home for 4 nights. I got to see all my gorgeous friends over there, I would name you all personally but you know who you are and as I always say you can't put that much love in a blog post!!

Happy 18th Birthday to Alex Moonen for tomorrow. Have a fantastic Birthday Alex.

So enough of my free flowing whitter, how are you all? Is everyone having a good summer so far, anyone developed webbed feet or trench foot because of all the rain??

Tuesday night is having tea at my folks after work night or HTAMFAWN...not very catchy, might have to work on that I think. Anyway, I was chatting away with my mum and she said to me 'I wouldn't mind one of those Ben Sherman Grills you know'....'do you mean a George Foreman Grill mum?'. Slippery slope, veeeerrrrrry slippery slope. Hello Mum!

Well I think I'll call it a night, I'm going to see what's been happening in the world on the BBC and head off for an early night. I sound such a boring Dolly, I don't blame any of you for deserting me and finding a more interesting blog to read, I won't be offended.

Till next time....x

She lives!.......

I'm alive, I'm here and I'm still doing what I'm doing, in relative good working order....well almost, I'm still recovering from going clubbing on Saturday night (I'm getting on a bit now you know, it takes it's toll!).

I would like to apologise for my complete lack of blog action, general musings and mad woman rantings over the past several weeks or so. I'd like to say it's because I've become someone very important and internationally renowned as being someone very important...but it's not. I'm still working the 9 to 5, yes three months down the line Dolly is still doing a Dolly and earning a crust for the summer. I have to say I've enjoyed it, yes it's scuppered my plans of laying about in front of the telly, throwing cat biscuits at the cats every now and again, and reading something other than the Metro and Grazia, but hey, it's money and it's paying for my jollies to far flung lands such as Amsterdam (again...!), Paris (Bonjour) and Whitby (eh up).

It's Dolly's birthday tomorrow and I turn the grand old age of.... - OH, AS IF I'm going to divulge that kinda info, I want to keep you guessing that my youthful good looks and shining spirit of happiness (once I've had 2 cups of tea and a berroca) hide the true age of Ms Peg, besides isn't it rude to ask a woman her age these days?! But in the spirit of summer, I shall be (ahem) 21.....again.

My folks are back home now, fully retired and embracing the lie in's. It's nice to have them back. I've been used to them living away for over 10 years but if truth be known, now i'm in my current student state, a free meal once or twice a week and help with my assignments is a definite plus to the retirement of my folks. I love them both dearly and it'll be nice to spend a lot more time with them now.

Hmmm, what else has been happening.........I passed my first year, woop! I have to admit it was a squeaky bum moment, not that I had any doubts I'd pass (ok, maybe one or two), but for my overall mark. I am happy with it, I can do better and will do better next year, but the main thing is, I passed. I celebrated with some chocolate (didn't think that would surprise you).

I've had a furniture re-shuffle at DP towers, and it's looking a lot more homely it has to be said. Out with the old and in with the new, it seems to be a saying which can be applied to many different people and situations at the moment, you know who you are.

But generally, all in all, for the most part (late nights are really starting to take their toll now) I'm happy with my lot in life at the mo. Ok, so I didn't win the euromillions on Friday night - damn, Jason Statham hasn't moved in next door - double damn, and I've not been spotted in the queue at Sainsbury's to be the next Bond girl and drive around in an Aston Martin....you know I was saying I was happy with my lot, I lied!!

I've been keeping in touch with some of the gorgeous lovelies on my uni course and I think they're having a pretty good summer too, by all accounts. It'll be nice to get back in September to have a proper catch up with them...and start working on my pool skills again.

Well I think I shall leave it there for now, I've finished my maltesers so had better crack on and do some more work. I promise I won't leave it so long next time.

Till next time...x

Cloggy Dolly and the 8 bananas.....

Well I survived...just, but my voice didn't. I'm nursing dulcet tones huskier than Mariella Frostrup with a chest infection, which while it might be sexy for the most part, loses it a bit when I have a coughing fit, but we can gloss over that minor detail.

Well, first and foremost I want to say a HUGE thank you to my gorgeous friend Garry for giving me a home for the past few days whilst I was there. He really is a fabulous friend....and little does he know I'm moving back in next week, hahaha (oh and it's dark orange not RED!). I was touched (not in that way!) by all of the Amsterdam lovelies this weekend, I love and miss you all.

Well, it's been an eventful few days to say the least, I managed to get sunburnt on the one day of hot weather and I'm nursing a huge bruise on my leg, no idea how I got it, I've also got a huge bruise on my arm because I kept banging it on the door handle...you'd think I'd learn my lesson from the first half a dozen times I did it, nooooo, I carried on doing it.

Queens Day itself was a fantastic day with so much orangeness, drinking, dancing and good times that I hardly took any photos at all, and thats not like me, I normally end up getting completely snap happy. I've got a few on my phone so i'll try and find one which doesn't a) make me look like life size orange with legs b) a dodgy looking carrot or c) pissed!

Dolly went for dinner with Mary, Dette, Gisele and Rob on Saturday night to Gaucho's and I've not laughed so much in god knows how long, I was limp with laughter. We did end up though with a lovely present for Garry and a matching one for Gisele...and I'm still finding toothpicks!!! A word to the wise though, might be best not asking me to order Empenada's for your starter if we should happen to go together, you could end up with 8 bananas instead, hahahaha (you had to be there I think for that one...ahem). I'm also on a mission to see if I can get mutton flaps over here (now you lot are just being filthy), it's a joint of mutton meat, trust me...would I lie to you??!!!

Sunday was spent in the pub watching the footy, reading the papers and trying to avoid some very disappointed Ajax supporters from the pub 2 doors down. Riot police and undercover rozzers everywhere...I nearly ran outside begging to get myself arrested, nevermind the footy hooligans, you just don't get that at Southport FC!

And to top off an already fantastic weekend, I went to see Imelda May at Melkweg. She was fantastic. I've not heard her music before but I would definitely go and see her again, check her out if you get the chance. Fantastic voice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZucJAkzCNq8&feature=related (not sure if this breaks copyright, but hey, it's on youtube!).

Well I think I'll leave it there, you're all probably nodding off by now anyway I've whittered on that long. It's going to take another day or two to fully recover I think and bring my raspy, knackered voice back to normal. Anyway...

Till next time...x

Get your finger out Aeolus!....

I apologise in advance if this turns into a rant but I'm not arf getting pipped off with this volcanic ash business. Whats going on??! The reason for my 'on the verge of hysteria-ness' is I'm going away next week for a few days and I need all this volcano ash to be gone, spewing the other way or just generally not there. I'm selfish I know, but I'm sure I'm not the only one to be having a moan about it, natural disasters don't half scupper your plans sometimes. If it doesn't settle I'm considering water skiing over, I admit not the most attractive look I've ever carried off it'll be like watching a penguin on two ice lolly sticks!, but it beats swimming or rowing there.

And whats with having no wind to blow it in the other direction? It's sods law, because I can bet you a pound to a penny as soon as I book to get my hair done it'll be hurricane fred outside ready to get my salon spruced tresses looking like the wild woman of borneo, coincidence, hmmmmm..........

It was the same at christmas with the eurotunnel train fiasco, all the controls had frozen so the trains wouldn't work...err, hang on, don't the trains operate under the sea away from all the ice and snow????

I feel better for a moan now, I've got it off my chest.

So my jaunt to the land of red light bulbs and tulips is next week. I promise I won't mention Amsterdam till I get back because I do have a tendancy to whitter on about it and I can tell you're all bored already, so I'll shut up. But I will say this, it's a beautiful city and if you get the chance to go, do, and go off the tourist trail, that way you find some fantastic bars etc., and save yourself a few euros too.

I hope you all had a great weekend by the way.

Till next time...x

TFI Friday!....

I am so glad it's Friday today. It has been one of those weeks I can tell you. My workload is about the treble the size of the amount of time I've actually physically got! So tomorrow is spent in the uni library trying to get my head around my Shakespeare presentation which still only consists of 2 slides and a brief plan. Because of my jaunt to Amsterdam at the end of the month all my remaining assignments need to be in for before I go!!!! I am currently having a stress.....so I suppose I should get off here and get some work done but I thought I'd have a calming lull before the storm.

My goodfriend Talullah performed from her musical repetoire last night in Brighton and she's shared a couple of video's for her adoring fans to watch on her blog. Please take a look, you can find the link to her blog at the bottom of mine, and please say hello...she doesn't bite.

So what are you all up to this weekend, I hope you've all got good things planned. I shall definitely be having a little (ok, large) glass of wine on Saturday night, it would be rude not to.

Right gorgeous lovelies I'm off, it's curry night tonight and I'm cooking - you can't beat a good curry.

Have a fantastic weekend.

Till next time...x

Ssshhhhh.......

I'm going to whisper this as I don't want to jinx it but it looks like we might be in for a nice spell of sunny weather next week. Don't panic I'm not getting my bikini out just yet..or at all, it's actually written into the constitution that I should never be seen in public in swimwear that exposes anymore than 10% of my body!

My Dad's gone back to Germany today to finish his teaching contract before he retires at the end of June. Even though he's been working away for 15 years it still makes me sad when I have to wave him off. My Mum is home for good now and getting stuff sorted for moving into their new des'res at the end of April. They're going to be living 10 minutes up the road so I can pop in for my tea and for company for my Mum, till my Dad's home again. I've spent some proper time with them over Easter and it's been lovely.

I've been trying to battle my way through Shakespeare this week and it's not going well. Much respect to the bard and all but he doesn't half waffle on a bit....sorry but he does, it's been a chewy assignment this one to say the least.

Well it's back to uni on Monday, I'm quite glad as I need to get back into some sort of routine again, and I've missed everyone (well, most people) though with my car being as sick as sick can be, it means I'll have to get up earlier so I can get the bus, I don't mind though, give me my ipod and a window to stare out of and I'm a happy little bunny. I've not got done half of the work I wanted to get done in fact I would probably say I achieved 0.000001% (yes, that much!) of what I wanted to do - 2 slides of a power point presentation and reading isn't really productive, ahh well, it'll all turn out good.

I'm off to Amsterdam for a few days at the end of this month so I'm booking my flight on Monday, I can't wait. It'll be great to catch up with everyone as I've not seen them since last year...thank god for Facebook and Twitter!

Right my gorgeous lovelies I shall leave you to enjoy the rest of your weekend whilst I go in search for some hayfever tablets, I've been sneezing for an hour...damn pollen!

Till next time...x
