It's not neglect, it's tough love.....

Ok, I'm here. Yes, I know, I know, I won't insult your intelligence with excuses, but I'm here and alive and sat in on a Saturday night with a glass of lemonade and 2 cats for company. Wooo, rock and roll!

So what's been happening, have I missed much? Shall I put the kettle on and we can have a bloody good gossip? Hello to my new followers too, you are both very kind indeed and are welcome anytime for a cuppa tea and a kit kat.

Not that I'm all about myself but I suppose I should tell you what I've been up to since I've not been around for nye on three months. In my defence I have been busy, I've been a bridesmaid for the fourth time for my brother and his lovely wife, Dani. It was a lovely day, really nice and relaxing. The studies have been busy and I'm presenting my first academic paper on Lord Byron on 25 May. Yup, squeaky bum time because all I know about Byron is he was a Lord....and a man.....! Stunning revelation that is, not sure I can eek it out into 15 minutes though, I'll give it a damn good try.

I've also taken over at the Black Market Review, http://www.blackmarketreview.com/as Editor in Chief (well I will do once the current edition has been published). To say I'm nervous about it, is an understatement, but it's a challenge and one which hopefully I won't fuck up. If you get a chance, please have a look at it, it really is very good.

There's been more domestics with my neighbours next door than on your average weekly Eastenders plot. It really does make for a fascinating listen on a boring Thursday night. Several evenings have passed with door slamming, crying and shouting of 'your an evil bastard you are'. Ahhh, and who could forget the Polish love muscle from Flat 2 and his infamous 3 second knee tremblers. You'd think I live in the doldrums somewhere, I don't, I only live in Southport.

Well my beauties I think I shall leave it there for now. If you have any gossip you think I'd love (and I do love a gossip) then pass it on.

I'm going to see Elbow tomorrow night at the Echo Arena and to say I am excited is an understatement. I will be worshipping at the feet of Guy Garvey like a lyric obsessed junkie (his lyrics are my kind of poetry).

Good night all.

Till next time...x

Rinky Dink Pink.....

Howdy doodles all 10, YES 10 of you. I think I might have to get some extra mugs and drafting in emergency chairs for everyone.

Firstly, I would like to welcome my 10th follower. Hello. I hope you like inane ramblings, cups of tea and the occasional soap box campaign (I don't campaign on behalf of soap boxes, I think they're covered under they're own union), but I occasionally clamber up onto one, rant on for a few minutes and then shuffle off back to my corner. I hope you like it, would you like a cup of tea?

I'm back from a few days of Pride parades, tequila swigging, drag queen chasing, beer slurping, more sequins than you can shake a Febo burger at, fantastic friends weekend in Amsterdam. I went over for Pride and my friend Rob's 40th birthday. It was such a good weekend and I'm cloggy home sick and want to go back again. Before you hear it from anyone else, yes I did get extremely pished on Friday night and chased drag queens around so I could have my photo taken with them. Honestly, I shouldn't be let out in public sometimes.....

I stayed with Garry again who's spare room was my home for 4 nights. I got to see all my gorgeous friends over there, I would name you all personally but you know who you are and as I always say you can't put that much love in a blog post!!

Happy 18th Birthday to Alex Moonen for tomorrow. Have a fantastic Birthday Alex.

So enough of my free flowing whitter, how are you all? Is everyone having a good summer so far, anyone developed webbed feet or trench foot because of all the rain??

Tuesday night is having tea at my folks after work night or HTAMFAWN...not very catchy, might have to work on that I think. Anyway, I was chatting away with my mum and she said to me 'I wouldn't mind one of those Ben Sherman Grills you know'....'do you mean a George Foreman Grill mum?'. Slippery slope, veeeerrrrrry slippery slope. Hello Mum!

Well I think I'll call it a night, I'm going to see what's been happening in the world on the BBC and head off for an early night. I sound such a boring Dolly, I don't blame any of you for deserting me and finding a more interesting blog to read, I won't be offended.

Till next time....x

She lives!.......

I'm alive, I'm here and I'm still doing what I'm doing, in relative good working order....well almost, I'm still recovering from going clubbing on Saturday night (I'm getting on a bit now you know, it takes it's toll!).

I would like to apologise for my complete lack of blog action, general musings and mad woman rantings over the past several weeks or so. I'd like to say it's because I've become someone very important and internationally renowned as being someone very important...but it's not. I'm still working the 9 to 5, yes three months down the line Dolly is still doing a Dolly and earning a crust for the summer. I have to say I've enjoyed it, yes it's scuppered my plans of laying about in front of the telly, throwing cat biscuits at the cats every now and again, and reading something other than the Metro and Grazia, but hey, it's money and it's paying for my jollies to far flung lands such as Amsterdam (again...!), Paris (Bonjour) and Whitby (eh up).

It's Dolly's birthday tomorrow and I turn the grand old age of.... - OH, AS IF I'm going to divulge that kinda info, I want to keep you guessing that my youthful good looks and shining spirit of happiness (once I've had 2 cups of tea and a berroca) hide the true age of Ms Peg, besides isn't it rude to ask a woman her age these days?! But in the spirit of summer, I shall be (ahem) 21.....again.

My folks are back home now, fully retired and embracing the lie in's. It's nice to have them back. I've been used to them living away for over 10 years but if truth be known, now i'm in my current student state, a free meal once or twice a week and help with my assignments is a definite plus to the retirement of my folks. I love them both dearly and it'll be nice to spend a lot more time with them now.

Hmmm, what else has been happening.........I passed my first year, woop! I have to admit it was a squeaky bum moment, not that I had any doubts I'd pass (ok, maybe one or two), but for my overall mark. I am happy with it, I can do better and will do better next year, but the main thing is, I passed. I celebrated with some chocolate (didn't think that would surprise you).

I've had a furniture re-shuffle at DP towers, and it's looking a lot more homely it has to be said. Out with the old and in with the new, it seems to be a saying which can be applied to many different people and situations at the moment, you know who you are.

But generally, all in all, for the most part (late nights are really starting to take their toll now) I'm happy with my lot in life at the mo. Ok, so I didn't win the euromillions on Friday night - damn, Jason Statham hasn't moved in next door - double damn, and I've not been spotted in the queue at Sainsbury's to be the next Bond girl and drive around in an Aston Martin....you know I was saying I was happy with my lot, I lied!!

I've been keeping in touch with some of the gorgeous lovelies on my uni course and I think they're having a pretty good summer too, by all accounts. It'll be nice to get back in September to have a proper catch up with them...and start working on my pool skills again.

Well I think I shall leave it there for now, I've finished my maltesers so had better crack on and do some more work. I promise I won't leave it so long next time.

Till next time...x
